Artist Bio

Andy Webster (b. 2003, Houston) is  a person of many identities and a jack of many trades. They are an artist based in Charlotte, North Carolina, who practices oil painting and lithography in an unsettlingly surreal application. Growing up in the deep south as a black queer child, they always sought a way to document and convey their innermost taboo thoughts and feelings. Webster’s work explores themes of intersectionality, existentialism, communion, and viscera. Webster is currently amidst a journey to a BFA from the Savannah College of Art and Design, with a major in Painting and a concentration in Printmaking. During Webster’s time at SCAD their work has been exhibited in the Savannah College of Art and Design’s Fine Arts Showcase for three years running. As Webster approaches the end of their undergraduate experience, they seek further artistic knowledge and connection through collaboration with studio peers, painting and printmaking residencies, and gallery exhibitions.
